Day 8: Noak Hill

After coming back from the IOM I actually had a rest day, and then another, and then another ... also, the rain has been ceaseless in this part of the work, so it seemed like a good idea to recuperate. This means my day numbers no longer match up with the calendar, but it had to happen!

Today's walk is a fairly simple one, up and down Noak Hill in Basildon and Billericay close to where I live. It starts with quite a sharp hill and then moves up quite slowly, past farm lands (some of the last farms before the urban sprawl of London starts in Brentwood) and up to a sign marking the start of Little Burstead, at which point I usually turn on my heels and come back again. It's normal for my calf muscles to start hurting within the first 200 yards but they do get better after a mile or so. 3.00 miles in 59 min 14 sec (ave 3.04mph)
Calories burned 493; steps taken 6,632; elevation 146 ft
6 deg C, drizzle, clouds
